LTTC on Youth work and Young Refugees 1st phase – 1-8 October 2018 (Lesvos, Greece)

The Hellenic National Agency for Erasmus+ in the field of Youth/ Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation in cooperation with the Italian National Agency for Erasmus+ Youth in Action and SALTO Inclusion & Diversity Resource Centre, organized the 2-phase TCA activity: “Youth work and young refugees”.

Italy and Greece have been facing the challenge of intervening, hosting and integrating refugees. The training main objective was to create a common language and understanding of the realities of young refugees in Europe. Firstly, national realities (based on homework that participants prepared before arriving to Lesvos) were shared. The projection of the documentary “Silent Message” was the occasion to discuss the challenges that young people face in refugee camps. https://vimeo.com/279113985?ref=fb-share.

Furthermore, participants had the opportunity to get familiar with grassroots’ initiatives active in Lesvos in the refugees’ field and with the work with young people of established organisations such as Red Cross (Danish and Hellenic) and International Rescue Committee

The second event will take place in Athens, 2-7 February 2019 (including arrival & departure). It will provide the space for assessment and feedback on plans implemented by participants between activities.

Stay Tuned for the next phase!
